These CPUs implement a 45nm enhanced Intel® Core™ microarchitecture, previously code-named ”Penryn”, that delivers more capability, performance and energy efficiency from enhancements that include expanded power management capabilities, reduced virtualization overhead, and 47 new Intel® SSE4 instructions to improve the performance of media and high-performance computing applications.
