VariCAD 2D/3D CAD Tutorials are available to anyone that wants to increase their knowledge of how powerful, yet easy to use, VariCAD software is. You do not have to purchase VariCAD in order to use the tutorials — VariCAD offers a free 30-day trial, which we encourage everyone to try out (see our VariCAD Free Software Trial page for latest information).

The VariCAD web site (link above) provides some examples of 2D drawing and 3D modeling. Each example contains an animated flash, set of related images and description. The examples include step-by-step instructions for how to build 2D and 3D CAD models from scratch. 2D drawing is demonstrated when creating 2D profiles, which are then used for 3D extrusion later. After finishing the creation of the 2D profiles, 3D editing is demonstrated.

Other examples, like creation of 2D from 3D, sheet metal unbending, assemblies or shells use the existing files.

Note: if you download and install the 30-day free trial software, the 2D drawings and 3D objects used and/or created in the particular tutorial and demonstration steps are available in the directory lib\samples\tutorial located within the directory where you installed VariCAD. In general, to determine which file is being used in the online tutorials, see the File Name that appears in the VariCAD window upper frame.
